Normally we are swamped with 3GSM tickets, but this year it seems to be a real problem. For all of you who are still on the search of a ticket, there is a solution. The nice guys at Origin made a web form that allows you to register directly for the event. See you all there!
MTV and Jamba to intensify partnership

Jamba has signed an agreement with Viacom to create a closer cooporation between the two companies. In the agreement, Jamba (also known as Jamster in some countries) has received licenses to develop mobile content and mobile games around formats of MTV, VIVA, Nick and Comedy Central in Germany, Austria and Swiss. Both Viacom and Jamba will promote the products on these markets under both names. From what we understand from the German press release, VIVA will also launch a TV program revolving around ringtones produced by Jamba.

Playphone hooked Lycos Mobile up

Playphone has closed a deal with Lycos to provide all Lycos Mobile content services. Playphone will sell mobile games, wallpapers, ringtones and other content on a monthly subscription basis. Lycos will promote the services on their Lycos portal and community websites like Angelfire, Tripod and Gamesvillage.

Payforit launched in the UK

Payfortit has launched in the UK. Payforit is the first payment and billing service which is fully integrated into all UK operators, giving consumers a clear option for paying with their mobile phones. I-Play is the first mobile games publisher to welcome payforit in their on and off portal strategy.
Twistbox and InfoSpace Press Release

Since many people ask me if we really hold the press release of the InfoSpace Games US acquisition by Twistbox… here it is! There was no embargo on it (it said for immediate release) when we received it so we are not aware of the date mentioned by Mobile Entertainment Magazine. Thanks for the quote by the way MoCoNews!

Gamespot: I’ve never seen a mobile game that engaged me

On the Osney media Mobile Games Forum, a lively discussion started about what a casual game is. Most surprisingly (or perhaps not at all) was Gamespot’s Phil Elliot who announced we should really pay more attention to the quality.
Sony and Namco Bandai Team up for PS3 and Mobile

Sony and Namco Bandai announced to start a joint development studio for PS3 console development and mobile games. The label for mobile games will be Cellius. No doubt this will mean we will see a lot of Cellius titles pre installed on SonyEricsson handsets and on SonyEricsson portals to keep the revenues in-house as much as possible. A funny detail reveales the domain name Cellius is not owned by any of the parties and is registered in 2000.

Its that time again as the carnival of the mobilists hits Xellular Identity where the guys did a great job in summerizing the news which mostly was… the iPhone again! Xellular did a great job at issue 59.
AIAS Award Nominees

The Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences has announced the nominees for “the Mobile Game of the Year”. The tenth edition of this awards show will be held in Las Vegas during the D.I.C.E. summit. Nominated are ID’s Orcs and Elves, Hands-On Mobile’s Duckshot and Gameloft with their Brothers in Arms 3D and Tropical Madness.
Gameloft: Consumers Must be Educated

MobileIndustry has put online an editorial about the Osney Media Mobile Gaming Forum in London where Gameloft’s VP of publishing spoke up about changes needed to improve relationships with consumers. It is time to change billing methods.
