Activision to Open new UK-Based Studio

China Finally Allows Google to Acquire Motorola Mobility

Following grants from the EU and US, China now also approved the acquisition of Motorola Mobility by Google. With this final approval in the pocket, Google can proceed with its plans to acquire Motorola Mobility for its IP and probably put the rest of Motorola Mobility back on sale ;-).

Halfbrick Builds An Empire Through Fruit Ninja

Would you ever have expected to find yourself slicing fruit on your PC, iPhone or other mobile device? Not many would but we all have to agree that the thrill you get from slicing fruit and dodging bombs is fantastic. And who have we to thank for such a strange combination? Halfbrick Studios, game developer, which was founded in 2001, in Queensland, Australia. If you were a fan of the nickelodeon games, you may be aware that it was this same developer who developed popular games such as Rocket Power: Beach Bandits and a few Avatar the Last Air bender games. Being one of the most downloadable mobile games in history, its only natural that many similar clones and other ways to play Fruit Ninja Online exist all over the web.

Samsung Preparing for a Mobile Acquisition!?

Samsung is planning to take over a mobile company. Though it is unknown which company Samsung is to acquire, it won’t be RIM. Or at least that’s what Samsung’s mobile president J.K. Shin said in an interview with the Wall Street Journal.

Fluik Entertainment Inc. sure thought you should, and to take not only vengeance on that little pest, but on other annoyances we can pick on. Fluik more accredited for their wacky games of real life nuisances such as The Office Jerk and the new iPhone hit Plumber Crack (yes, this is actually the game’s name!).

PopCap Maintains Dominance through Plants vs. Zombies

When a business launches its products, all it takes is just one of the products to hit it big with the market. PopCap is a company that develops a lot of the games you might have already played, responsible for such classics as Bejeweled, Feeding Frenzy 2 and Plants Vs Zombies. PopCap games are not only available for iOS as well as Android devices but have now taken over the gaming world by storm. A lot of the games that the company has released are available for the PC, PS3, Wii and even Xbox 360. While many titles are popular, the biggest game that the company has probably ever developed is Plants vs. Zombies which continues to be a hit in all platforms that it is available in. There is a little known fact unknown to handheld gadget users and that is this game was originally released for the PC, and not for the latter as most people commonly believe.

Gree Invests in IUGO
