N-Gage Launch set for November

NokiaAt Nokia’s Go Play event, Nokia finally gave a direct answer to when the new N-Gage platform will launch. Until now, Nokia kept claiming the service would launch during fall 2007, but yesterday they announced that it will go live in November of this year.

"As we expand our focus from a dedicated game phone to a gaming service, we are making getting and playing games even easier," said Jaakko Kaidesoja, head of the games business at Nokia. "The N-Gage service combined with powerful devices, world class titles and brands, and interactive social networking features, takes the mobile gaming experience beyond traditional boundaries."

The new N-Gage platform willl not only be preinstalled on new Nokia phones, but consumers can also download it from N-Gage.com. The N-Gage platform is confirmed to run on all Series 60 3rd edition models. The platform will launch in over 20 countries and support SMS and CC billing. Mobile games will cost between
