Nokia Files New Mobile Gaming Device Patent

February 11th, 2008 by Arjan Olsder Posted in Gaming Gear | No Comments »

NokiaNokia still hasn’t fully recovered from the failed N-Gage hardware. As Gizmondo announced their return, and people keep widely speculating about a PSP phone, Nokia filed a new design patent for a mobile gaming device.

Nokia_wings_patent The device looks a lot like the PSP, or upcoming widescreen Gizmondo so to say. It’s also clear that the company learned from their previous N-Gage adventures. As so, they included fold-out wings to make the device feel comfortably in the hand, as well as allow normal use in the ‘phone’ mode.

Of course, a patent is not the same as having an device actually ready. As so, we would love to see the device for real, but don’t expect it on the short term. The full patent is filed here.
