Vivendi wins Spike TV Award

Vivendi announced to have won the Spike TV Best Wireless Game Award last Friday with their SWAT Force game. Nominated for the award where Super K.O. Boxing, Diner Dash and Tower Bloxx.

David Goosen: Mobile to overtake consoles

In a article related to their interview with David Goosen, CEO of I-Play, MobileIndustry dives deeper into the mobile vs. console topic. David compares the number of consoles on the market over the past 25 years (300M) and mobile sold every year (800M). Reading these numbers, it only makes sense to say that IP owners can earn more on the mobile market even though the revenues are much smaller.

This time, they held it with David Goosen from I-Play where they address mainly the consumer base for mobile games and the changes that exist in it. Sulake extends Haboo’s mobile adventures

Sulake has already released a few Habbo Hotel based mobile games into the mobile world with great success. The company now announced it will go a step beyond by connecting the actual Habbo Hotel itself to mobile gamers all over the world. Exact specifics are not known yet, but it’s clear that PC and mobile users will have possibilities to communicate with each other and also other features like buying and spending credits will be included. For this project, Sulake will not use J2me like before, but wap and i-mode.
Exit Games into Softbank

MobileIndustry.biz reports a further move into Softbank by Exit Games. The two inked a deal to release more mobile games based on Exit’s Neutron solution. The mobile games selected are Brick Challenge, Catapults and Darts from Japanese developer Media Socket Inc.
Herocraft releases Rise of Antares

For it’s new game, Herocraft went a bit back in history to release it’s newest game Rise of Antaris which is based on Master of Orion. The game is a turn based strategy game mixed with a bit of fighting. The ultimate goal is to have your company dominating the universe. Full press release below.

OrangePixel releases BubbleBee Quicktype

OrangePixel and Smallfry have released their first SMS style mobile game which really challenges your thumbs to the max.It reminds me of an old Gamica game I once played, where I have to press the numbers rolling out of a factory. OrangePixel takes it into baloons though and gos for the full dictionary. We’ve pasted the full Press Release below.

Floodgate’s Mo-pets and Sony BMG connection
