September 19th, 2006 by Arjan Olsder Posted in Open Discussions | No Comments »

To start of the new open discussion a bit better then the last one, we decided to announce it a few days before it actually takes place. This Friday, the open discussion will be about mobile device coverage of games. This reflects to the announcements of Apple to support downloadable games on the iPod and Adobe who released their latest Flash Lite profile for creative’s iRiver MP3 player. The general topic is, will we branch out to devices such as MP3 players as Flash Lite and perhaps even J2me to become available on them. So why would or wouldn’t you go for it? See you all on Friday!

September 19th, 2006 by Arjan Olsder Posted in Analysis & Editorial | No Comments »

We wanted to do it last week, but Pikesoft who hosted carnival of the mobilists 44 seemed to be down. Well, it’s up again, so I would advice you read it if you haven’t already. Also in this post, we’d like to announce carnival 45 at mobilecrunch. For all of you out there who have no clue what the carnival is, check the mobilist site. Compliments to both Crunch and Pike about their great work gathering and writing about everything that has been going on in the industry the past weeks.

September 19th, 2006 by Arjan Olsder Posted in Analysis & Editorial | No Comments »

As our friends at QB report, it seems the heat is on between Glu and Gameloft about who really is the number 2 (as EA is the clear winner at the moment) in the world of mobile games. Gameloft has openly challenged Glu to make its numbers public so anyone can see if Glu’s statements about being number 2 are true.

Bluesphere: rumors say Game Over!?

September 19th, 2006 by Arjan Olsder Posted in Companies & M&A | No Comments »

Ok, again its rumor time, but this time we can’t find anyone to point the finger toward if it’s not true. So we will not say that we received several emails that Blue Sphere is bankrupt. We never received those, I repeat, we never received those! It would just be a shame to see one of the companies from the good old days to go down
