VeriSign and Sony Pictures Digital today announced that VeriSign’s mobile games publishing unit, Ojom, has signed a licensing agreement to develop and distribute mobile games based on select movie and television titles from Sony Pictures to mobile carriers and wireless users worldwide. As an adjunct to the ongoing development and distribution of mobile content by Sony Pictures Digital, the deal with Ojom will help meet growing consumer demand and bring more titles from Sony Pictures’ vast library of entertainment properties into the mobile marketplace. Real is acquiring Mr.Goodliving Ltd for approximately $15 million in cash. The transaction formally closed on Friday May 6, 2005. Real expects the acquisition to generate incremental revenue of approximately $3 million for the remainder of 2005 and approximately $8 million in 2006. More …
Roots: Gates Of Chaos With N-Gage Exclusive Storyline Ready To Ship

Nokia today announced that it will start shipping the fantasy RPG title Roots: Gates of Chaos. Published by Cenega, the title features a storyline exclusive to the N-Gage platform situated a 1000 years before the one told in the original Roots game. Up to four players can engage in cooperative and competitive multiplayer via the Bluetooth wireless connection. N-Gage Arena features include message boards.

G-Unit In The Game With Mobile Pact

G-Unit, the urban brand founded by rapper 50 Cent, has expanded its relationship with mobile media company Zingy to create an unusual series of games based on G-Unit artists including 50 Cent, Lloyd Banks, Young Buck and Tony Yayo.
The first of these mobile games will become available in the summer in cooperation with developer Upstart Games. Players who challenge "G-Unit: Free Yayo" can choose to be 50, Banks or Buck as they strive to rescue Yayo from an evil record label — obviously a fictitious entity. More …
JAMDAT’s Upwardly Mobile

Last Friday, the stock performance of JAMDAT (Nasdaq: JMDT) looked more like an IPO, not a response to an earnings report. The stock surged roughly 50% to about $26.00.
Investors certainly had reason to be happy. In the first quarter, revenues skyrocketed 115% to $15.1 million compared with the same period last year. The sequential increase was 31%. And this is not growth at the expense of income, since the company posted net income of $2.7 million, which was up from $700,000 in the same period a year ago. More …
