If there is any real 'Mario' of mobile, it must be the Townsmen brand from HandyGames. Over the past years, the the brand has grown out to be a real success on the platform.
It is not the first time HandyGames signs a townsmen game to another publisher. Disney has distributed Townsmen 5.

Come on, using Townsmen in the same breath as Mario… the Playman series I could possibly let slide, but Townsmen?
Well, I don’t hear much about Playman anymore, but that was a great series too.
