Push Problems for Jailbroken iPhones

July 16th, 2009 by Arjan Olsder Posted in Platforms: iOS | No Comments »

Apple In a new offensive to halt jailbroken iPhones, Apple is now blocking push notifications for jailbroken iPhones that are not being used on their original networks.

The Register reports that this issue is causing many frustrations with developers that rely on push notifications. The API runs over Apple's servers but doesn't seem to provide an error code when it fails to deliver to a jailbroken iPhone. This causes software to lock-up.

Apple is clear that it is not fully supporting iPhones that have been jailbroken, but developers would appreciate it if Apple could at least return some sort of error over the API.
