Google Removes YouTube-Like Apps from Marketplace

May 6th, 2012 by Roelof Posted in Platforms: AndroidOS, Platforms: Windows Phone | No Comments »

On behalf of Google, Microsoft has removed several apps from the Windows Phone marketplace. The apps removed have been violating Google’s trademarks.

Amongst the apps that have been removed are YouTube Pro, YouTube Live and YouTube Downloader. The removal of apps that violate trademarks is a standard procedure at Microsoft. Google did not remove similar apps on Google Play like YouTube Bookmark, YouTube Alarm Clock and WiFi for YouTube.
