Graphics Booster for HTC Phones Revealed

Dutch developer ChainFire has released version 1.2 of it's GfxBoost tool for HTC smartphones. Though the app does cash in on CPU resources, it manages to boost the quality of 2D graphics.

The Windows Mobile tool activates QTV, a video decoder from Qualcomm. By activating this decoder, the output to the screen is optimized to fit the refresh rate it can handle. In many cases, the screen receives too much information resulting in a lower framerate that is actually being displayed. This tool should cancel that out.

To activate the tool, a smartphone has to be equipped with Windows Mobile and the Qualcomm MSM7000 series chipset. Supporting devices are the Tytn2, Touch Cruise, Diamond, Touch HD, Xperia X1 and many others.
