Hands-On Releases Iron Man

May 2nd, 2008 by Arjan Olsder Posted in New Releases | No Comments »

HandsonAt the same time of the Hollywood movie release, Hands-On is releasing their Iron Man mobile game through their Marvel Mobile licensing deal.

It has been silent for a long time with Marvel Mobile and a lot of industry rumours said the deal might even be at risk. The release of Iron Man shows that the cooperation between the two entertainment companies is far from dead.

"We are thrilled to add Iron Man to our extensive Marvel Mobile catalog," said Niccolo de Masi, President, Hands-On Mobile. "This summer promises to be a blockbuster for mobile content and we look forward to continuing to provide mobile gamers with stylish and exciting content based on the much loved Marvel characters."

"Hands-On Mobile has created wonderful games for us, including X-Men: The Last Stand and Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer," said Simon Philips, President of Marvel International. "Both Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk mobile games promise to continue this success with nonstop action and fantastic gameplay. Hands-On Mobile continues to provide the greatest gaming experience for all of our fans."

In the vertically scrolling shoot-’em-up Iron Man mobile game, players take control of the invincible Iron Man while fighting through four levels of nonstop action based on the upcoming movie starring Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow and Terrence Howard. Equipped with repulsor rays and the devastating unibeam, players will visit many locations, including those from the movie, while at the same time blasting away at enemy forces equipped with the weapons Tony Stark had himself developed. Iron Man must collect power-ups to increase the effectiveness of each weapon and destroy relentless waves of enemy units en route to a climactic confrontation with the world’s greatest new foe: Iron Monger!

Currently Hands-On is developing a new mobile game around the new Hulk movie which will also hit cinema’s soon. Let’s hope this is the sign that a lot of Marvel goodness is coming to mobile again.
