Oberon Revives Blaze as a Social Gaming Platform

July 22nd, 2010 by Arjan Olsder Posted in Analysis & Editorial | No Comments »

Social gaming platforms like OpenFeint and Scoreloop are getting competition from Oberon Media which has launched Blaze, a cross platform social gaming network.

Developers who integrate Blaze into their social gaming strategy will directly benefit from the millions of gamers that are already Blaze connected through Oberon’s own games (ran under the I-Play brand) if they release a cross-platform of web based game. It is unclear how strong the mobile presence of Blaze is as well as which mobile platforms are supported.

For those wondering where they heard the name Blaze before; this indeed used to be a mobile game developer that was acquired by Oberon Media back in 2006.
