GDC: ARM Releases ARM Mali SDK

Exit Games Received $ 4.6 Million Funding

Bertelsmann Digital Media Investments led the latest funding round for
German multiplayer company Exit Games. In this latest round of funding,
Exit Games received $ 4.6 million from their investors which also
include Neuhaus Partners and SMAC partners.

Herocraft Releases Bird Flu

Herocraft has released a nice new casual game called bird flu. Though the screen shots where a bit puzzling to me as to how this game really plays, the trailer on the website made it all clear and obvious that herocraft has released a great original casual mobile game.

GDC: Nokia Jumps into In-Game Advertising

Nokia announced to release two services into the market if mobile
advertising. Nokia Ad Service is a fully managed platform for
advertisers to target the mobile services and applications like mobile
games. It allows ad networks to deploy, manage and optimize mobile
advertising campaigns.

Zelfi, Another Ad-Funded Mobile Games Portal Launches

In German speaking countries like Austria, Switzerland and of course Germany itself, Zelfi has already been operating on the free mobile games market for over 12 months and has now chosen to introduce itself to the English speaking world. At first sight, Zelfi doesn’t seem to use wrapper technologies. Instead, programmers have to insert ad breaks into the code themselves, meaning the game is paused to show them.

The February edition of Amob‘s salescharts reached our mailbox this morning, showing a top 10 which is slowly getting dominated by branded mobile games, though non-branded games still show excellent results.

US Q4 06 Mobile Game Downloads Worth $ 151 Million

Research company Telephia released details about mobile game downloads in the US for the fourth quarter of 2006. The research shows that the value of downloads has increased to $ 151 million which is an increase of 61% in comparison with the fourth quarter 2005.

GDC: Gameloft Announced Full N-Gage Line-Up

With the Nokia press releases just submitted, Gameloft already followed up with details about their titles for the new N-Gage mobile games platform. Though most of the titles don’t form a real surprise, they do lift the expectations further.
