I-Play signs a fishy deal

October 24th, 2006 by Arjan Olsder Posted in Brand Licensing | No Comments »

Following up on the distribution deal between Fishlabs and Arvato signed Oktober 13th 2005, this time Fishlabs announced to distribute their titles trough I-Play. They kick off with five titles; Galaxy on fire, Planet Riders, Burning Tires, Tank Raid and Heli Strike.

"Fishlabs is well known for creating top-notch 3D mobile games," said David Gosen, CEO of I-play. "Adding their superb 3D games to our existing portfolio makes perfect sense, as the demand for high-end 3D games is steadily increasing. We’re excited about the partnership and impressed by their gaming properties which fit with our own philosophy of ‘one-thumb’ gaming."

Fishlabs CEO Michael Schade added: "Creating compelling high-end 3D games for a broad range of mobile phones involves heavy investments. So you need to find a strong partner not only with many direct channels but also with highly committed local sales teams in every key territory to launch the titles on as many operator decks as possible. That’s why we have signed the publishing deal with I-play."

Back at the 2005 GCDC in Leipzich, Fishlabs COO Christian Lohr showed me their first mobile games, which already stunned me. It’s great to see them become available more widely then ever before. Also the ingame connectivity options with the Exit Games Neutron service, will promote connected gameplay all over the globe.
