The company, which saw it’s mobile version of quiz game Trivial Pursuit reach number two in the official UK mobile games chart in November 2004*, has seen downloads soar for games which are not aimed at the traditional ‘console’ gamer.

"The mobile games market has often been treated as simply another games platform," says Juha Ruskola, the managing director of Mr Goodliving. Hoota & Snoz Come To Mobile Phones

Mobile games distributor and aggregator Telcogames has today signed an agreement with Australian production company Blue Rocket, to bring Hoota & Snoz, two of the cartoon world’s most badly-behaved characters to a series of games and entertainment services for mobile phones.

Three animated series of Hoota & Snoz have been created by Blue Rocket to date, with further series planned. Wireless gaming is on track to become the single largest wireless data application category from a revenue perspective, overtaking ring tones in 2005 and rising to nearly $1.5 billion annually by 2008, according to a new report from IDC. FILIPINO PC game developer Anino Entertainment is opening a new company that will focus on mobile phone game development.

The new company, Anino Mobile, was created in response to the increased use of multimedia-enabled phones, Anino said.
Anino Entertainment spokesperson Niel Dagondon said the new company has about 10 employees, nine of whom are developers. More …

Fox signs mobile-phone games deal

Twentieth Century Fox and Sorrent, Inc. has announced a two-year worldwide partnership in which Sorrent will be the exclusive publisher of mobile games and content for selected upcoming Fox feature film releases.

The partnership will launch with a mobile game and special entertainment content for Fox’s highly-anticipated computer animated feature film, "Robots." By nearly every measure, 2004 was a very good year at InfoSpace Inc.

The Bellevue company, which distributes content to mobile phones and operates an Internet search and directory business, posted record revenues, profits and cash flow as Chief Executive Jim Voelker continued his revitalization of the once-battered Internet firm.

Revenue surged 89 percent to $249 million in 2004, in part because of greater demand for the company’s ring tones, graphics and games. More …

Global wireless entertainment publisher JAMDAT Mobile Inc. (NASDAQ:JMDT) and interactive games publisher Atari, Inc. announced today the extension of the licensing agreement between JAMDAT and Atari, Inc. through 2008.
