Sun It seems Sun is also keen on releasing an App Store for all Java compliant devices. Where others aim at millions, Sun says it will aim for at least a billion consumers worldwide.

Their app store is currently in development and the project name is Vector. The company also detailed that the store will be named Java Store once launched.

Much like other app stores, Sun will also have an evaluation process in place where it checks for integrity and content. Mobile games and applications can be offered for free or be sold directly to consumers. Sun will keep a part of the fee, but didn’t disclose the percentage yet. Unlike others, Sun will allow bidding for top placement.

Next to mobile phones, the Java Store will also serve other Java and JavaFX enabled devices like the PC and Kindle.
