Vivendi Announces Urban Attack

October 9th, 2007 by Arjan Olsder Posted in Game Announcements | 1 Comment »

VivendiVivendi Games Mobile has announced the release of this years prestige project of the French publisher and developer called Urban Attack.

UrbanAttack This first person shooter has costed the company over 20 months of research and the fact that is runs in full 3D on all phones it is ported to, should prove a great amount of development time and makes us very curious for the gameplay quality as many of the first person shooters on mobile are horrible to play. We doubt however that Vivendi will let the players down with such a long development track.

Urban Attack should become available during the holiday season in the U.S. and Europe.

“We are excited to unveil Urban Attack this holiday season, after investing more than 20 months of research and development into making this the most visionary, action-packed FPS made for mobile that the industry has seen,” said Paul Maglione, president of Vivendi Games Mobile. “FPS enthusiasts as well as more casual gamers will undoubtedly find the intense graphics and meticulous attention to detail impressive and will quickly find themselves engaged with the storyline and gameplay.”

“We wanted to develop a fast paced, original mobile game, that retains the look and feel of a more traditional shooter while being designed to function across hundreds of handsets, instead of a limited number of 3D devices,” said Vincent Dondaine, producer of Urban Attack, Vivendi Games Mobile. “Players will enjoy the easy to use targeting system which is so smooth it quickly becomes second nature. This title overcomes the typical challenges a game of this type for mobile presents, and we hope it proves to be a successful model for mobile games moving forward.”
