Nokia today released their study to reveal mobile gaming habits World wide. They interviewed in total 1800 persons world-wide for an hour to discover the facts about the potential of try before you buy, connected / multiplayer games and other topics. The interview discloses a lot of interesting views on mobile gaming. A good example is the session time which is a lot longer then the 5 minutes we all expected. Please read the full research below
Gameloft signed up for Reggie Bush

Gameloft today announced it has inked down a deal to use New Orleans Saints running back Reggie Bush for their forthcoming American Football game. The game’s full title will now be Reggie Bush Pro Football 2007.

Asia-Pacific market set to double by 2010

VNUnet has put an article online in which Analyst and research firm In-Stat has announced the Asia-Pacific’s turnover on mobile games will be twice the size it is today by 2010. However they also warn about revenues that might not rise as fast. Main issues for this are piracy and fragmentation in the revenue schemes used.

Oberon Media acquires Blaze

Rumors around Blaze have been hanging in the air for a few months, but now it’s final. Blaze has been bought by Oberon Media. This strategic purchase expands Oberon in the mobile games market. According to the press release, Oberon will even try to offer casual PC games. I’m more interested though to see if Oberon will mobilise it’s flash games trough Blaze’s contracts with the operators. What is clear at this moment, is that the name Blaze will stop to exsist as the blaze.com website has been rebranded to Oberon media. For those who don’t know blaze, here’s the background;

HandyGames brings another unique game

Today, HandyGames released LiftBoy. LiftBoy follows in the range of original games like Porn Manager and Beershooter. As a liftboy, your task is not only to bring your passengers to the right floor in the least amount of time, but also to do some smooth talking to earn tips. The game is stuffed with unique wacky characters ranging from hot waitresses to half naked managers.
