EA not Interested in Android?

November 27th, 2009 by Arjan Olsder Posted in Analysis & Editorial, Platforms: AndroidOS | No Comments »

Ea-mobile This week, Gameloft announced to cut expenses on Android because of lacking performance. A day after, it confirmed support for Android 2.0. ME’s Stuart Dredge started to dig into EA, the biggest publisher in the market today.

As it turned out, EA has released only two titles to date. On their website they list just one for one device. Stu contacted EA Mobile and this was their feedback;

"We look for Google’s Android platform to become an important channel for EA Mobile and we have already launched some of EA Mobile’s most popular franchises on Android including Bejeweled and The Sims 3 with more to come, including Surviving High School, Spore Origins and many others."

So it’s clear EA is keeping the door to Android open, but it’s probably waiting for the platform to mature before it starts to burn some real budgets.
