Mpowerplayer Converts Mobile Games to Widgets

October 22nd, 2008 by Arjan Olsder Posted in Marketing Strategies | No Comments »

Viral marketing is becoming more and more important to reach today’s public. Digital Chocolate has already experienced the power of viral marketing by promoting their mobile games on networks like Facebook. Mpowerplayer is now enabling this technique for the whole industry.

"There are 200 million people playing casual Web games online," said Michael Powers, CEO of Mpowerplayer.  "You can get these same games for mobile — games like Bejeweled and Solitaire — but people just don’t know about it.  We bring mobile games to this audience where they live, which is online and on the Web.  And now we’re making it easy to share."

The widget solution adds playable mobile games to any blog, discussion forum, or Web site and allows for online viral sharing, a first for the industry. Mpowerplayer helps carriers, game publishers, and distributors put their entire catalogs online, and allows their customers to play and share the games they want to buy before making the commitment, turning any user into a virtual application store front.

"Bringing an online viral aspect to mobile games is a huge step towards educating consumers about the accessibility and availability of mobile content," Powers continues. "Our platform now allows content publishers and wireless carriers to easily offer mobile game demos on virtually any Web site and enables users to spread this content to their friends and family."
