1Up has been known for releasing perfect clones of Nintendo’s Game & Watch collection. After months of generating sales, Nintendo has finally sent the company a cease and desist order to stop selling the titles.
The titles involved, according to Geek.com, are GW Octopus, GW Helmet, GW Fire, and GW Chef. All those games have been perfect copies of the originals and sold pretty well.
It’s not the first time that Nintendo takes action. Earlier, we reported on a duckhunt clone, which was taken down on behalf of Nintendo. Funny enough, Apple’s QA team never started asking questions about these classic games.
