Did Wii blow it?
November 22nd, 2006 by Pascal Besteboer Posted in Games | 2 Comments »
If you are a fan of their cute and cuddly games or not, nobody can deny that Nintendo is currently at the front of gameing entertainment inovation. With the Nintendo DS they already showed that there is great interest amongst "non-gamers" of all ages and genders. Now they have released their Wii system and it should have every game-designer clapping his hands and stamping his feet like a little kid.
What this has to do with mobile games? well guess what, we already had all those non-gamers, we already had a device screaming for new creative game concepts and controls, and we blew it!

As most of you know, InfoSpace has closed the Elkware Studio earlier this year and their Q3 report ended with the following message;
"We’ve taken quick action to address the disappointing loss of business, aligning costs with future revenues to continue building on the strong foundation we have in mobile technology and online and mobile discovery," said Jim Voelker, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of InfoSpace, Inc.

Bango rolls over Mediaplazza
November 20th, 2006 by Arjan Olsder Posted in Other news | No Comments »
MediaPlazza and Bango inked a deal in which Bango will take responsibility for a big part of MediaPlazza’s billing. With this deal, Bango adds 60.000 mobile content stores to it’s network. For MediaPlazza, this deal means access to wap billing all over the world with just one partner and the possibility on many operators to use Bango’s BillRank, which is a method for putting the content directly on the consumer’s bill. Bango will also accept Craditcards trough PayPal, meaning Bango offers the full scale of payment methods.
