Asus Nexus 7 Surfaces

Fast Company: Tablets Kill eReaders

Following the demise of the netbook, the tablet seems to be wiping out the eReader market as well. Though tablets are a true horror to the retina when reading books, the benefit of being able to read in colour and read on a device purchased for all sorts of entertainment seems to go above purchasing a dedicated reading gadget.

Motorola Sales Plunge, Again

In the past quarter, Motorola Mobility has sold 8.9 million mobile devices. The sales took another dive. In the same quarter of 2011, Motorola Mobility sold 9.2 million devices. Though sales are down again, Motorola did record an increase in smartphone sales.

Intel Unveils Studybook Tablet for Emerging Markets

Intel has unveiled its new Studybook tablet. The 7” 1024×600 tablet is developed for emerging markets. It is water and shock-resistant (up to 70CM), cheap and will be running Windows 7 or Android OS.

Google Plans Tablet Webshop

Though the company was somewhat unsuccessful in selling their nexus devices directly to consumers (mainly due to customer support), rumours say Google is now planning a webshop for Android tablets.

The Nokia Tablet Rumours

Though Nokia has been stating it is not developing tablet devices, Marko Ahtisaar (the Nokia design chief) has said in an interview with a Finnish magazine the company is looking at the tablet market.

AdMob: Tablets Mostly Used for Gaming

Gartner: iPad to Dominate till 2016

MWC: HTC Releases Android 2.4 Tablet

CES: Vizio Announces Android Line-up
