Gameloft Doubts $ 19,99 App Store Channel

Over at PocketGamer, Stuart Dredge managed to speak to Gameloft's SVP of Worldwide Publishing Gonzague de Vallois about his doubts on the upcoming $ 19,99 premium games channel.

In the interview, Gonzague explains that the massive success of the Apple App Store is mainly the affordable pricing model of the channel. By bringing in more expensive mobile games, volumes are expected to go down.

"Brothers In Arms on iPhone is better than DS," he says. "Yet the DS version is sold for 30 Euros at retail, so maybe we should price it at that on the App Store. But it's digital, so the perceived value from the user is very different."
