Google Blocks Apps on HTC Legend

March 17th, 2010 by Arjan Olsder Posted in Platforms: AndroidOS, Smartphones & Tablets | No Comments »

Htc The HTC Legend has just gone on sale in The Netherlands. Several early buyers discovered that various applications can’t be found in Android Market while they are available on other devices.

In fact, when installing the apk files by hand, they work perfectly. This problem was discovered when users could not locate popular apps like Layar and Skype. At the moment, there is no way to compare the product offering so we cannot say how many apps and games are blocked for consumers.

Several consumers also contacted HTC support. HTC confirmed the existence of the problem but puts the blame at Google as HTC is not blocking any apps from being installed on the device.
