CyanogenMod might be one of the most popular custom ROM’s for Android devices. At the start of this year, a million Android phones had been running on CyanogenMod. By now, that amount has doubled.

Lidl Starts Selling Smartphones

Following in Aldi’s Shoes, German discounter Lidl is also starting to sell off cheap Android-based smartphones. While Aldi launched the Wolfgang brand to promote their line-up of mobile devices, Lidle isn’t taking that route. Instead, the company is offering the smartphones under the name of their manufacturer. Huawei.

Intel-ceo Paul Otellini announced that the first smartphone running on an Intel based SoC is ready to launch next week. The device is probably coming from India based vendor Lava.

Archos Claims Third Spot on EU Tablet Market

Archos has announced it is the second biggest vendor of tablets on the European market. If the tablets above €400 (yes, that’s mainly you Apple) aren’t counted, the company would be leading the market.

Telefonica Users Get Limited Free Access to EA Games

Telefonica/O2 has partnered with EA Mobile to provide its subscribers access to EA’s portfolio of mobile games including the new FIFA 12 and Monopoly franchises. There is a catch though… access is limited to three months after download.

Amazon Drops $20 In-App Purchasing Limits

Amazon only recently launched in-app purchases and, to avoid issues with the system, limited item pricing to $20. Amazon has now announced the end of that limitation.

Nazara Strikes EA Distribution Deal

Mobile game Publisher Nazara has struck an important deal with EA to take their mobile games to the Middle East. Amongst the channels Nazara will bring the EA titles to are the operators Saudi Telecom, Etihad Etisalat, Du and Viva.

TelyHD Brings Android Alternative to Google TV

Cache Partition Size Can Block 50MB APK’s
