An interesting topic that keeps the industry busy (and gives a lot of people a good excuse for things going wrong) is fragmentation. Over at Mobile industry they have launched a guest editorial that sums up the (mostly known) problems and possible solutions to them.

HandyGames Releases Panzer Tactics

With the DS version of Panzer Tactics about to be released by 10tacle Studios nearing, HandyGames announced to release the mobile version. Both the Nintendo DS and mobile version will feature groundbreaking improvements on the turn based strategy genre.

T-Mobile UK Launches Terraplay Platform

With mobile gaming communities becoming more and more important for developers to set-up shop outside of operators, it is no news that also operators like to create in-house communities. In the UK, T-Mobile has signed a deal with Terraplay to start hooking up their games platform to allow rental and pay-per-play games alongside their regular downloads. This also allows for in-game purchasing to happen and communities to be built.

Pillow Bashing With I-Play

I-Play has released a new game on its own IP called Pillow Bashing Babes. The game all revolves over the ever popular pillow fights that every bedroom at some point has faced. The game will feature some nice babes. You can choose the all time favorite French maid or the Cheerleader.

I-Play and McDonalds Team up

McDonalds these days is not only promoting a healthy lifestyle (and selling greasy burgers along with it), but the king of burgers has some tricks up its mobile sleeves as well. Their recent co-sponsorship with I-Play to the Midnight Gaming Championships in the US seems to have lead at least to a small love affair between the both, resulting in a massive mobile advertising stunt.

Lemonquest Acquires i4Game

Lemonquest announced the acquisition of Chinese mobile games company i4Game. The acquisition allows Lemonquest access to new territories and expands its catalogue of mobile games faster. I4Game’s studio is wel advanced in mobile 3D games.

Another 5 Years of Annoying Thing

Myriad interactive has announced to have signed The Annoying Thing aka Crazy Frog for another five years from Kaktus Film. This means the industry will not see the frog disappear from its outlets until 2012.
